"I haven't completely come to terms with that yet." It's been a year but his death feels like it happened yesterday, Kehler said. She was at school when he left to work in Alberta last summer. They got together and lived with each other for a time, all the while he urged her to go back to school. Jessica Kehler remembers meeting him eight years ago and being struck by how gorgeous he was. "Words can't describe what he was," said Mitchell, his friend of six years. Instead, they wanted to remember what he was like alive.
